I worked for SUMS Consulting from 2001 and I still work for them as an associate. SUMS ethos is to share best practice amongst its member universities. In my work with SUMS I have benchmarked services from IT to legal and reviewed processes from timetabling to admissions. I I have written briefing papers on new technologies such as e-assessment and I have sought to predict library futures (by asking leading librarians - I am not a librarian! ).
I started my career as a chemical engineer in 1987 working on new designs of oxygen plants for BOC. i was with BOC for twelve years moving from engineer to best operating practice programme manager to IT programme co-ordinator.
